1 The special termination benefits were primarily related to the Company's productivity, restructuring and integration initiatives. Refer to Note 11.
During the six months ended July 1, 2016, the Company contributed $502 million to our pension plans, and we anticipate making additional contributions of approximately $21 million during the remainder of 2016. The Company contributed $81 million to our pension plans during the six months ended July 3, 2015.
