Coca-Cola Partners with Olympic Gold Medalist Alex Morgan for Soccer Camp
Alex Morgan to Coach and Inspire Teens Participating in Coca-Cola Soccer Camp
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Soccer superstar and London 2012 Olympic Games gold medal winner Alex Morgan is the latest addition to an all-star group of international trainers part of the Coca-Cola Soccer Camp. Morgan teams with Coca-Cola to bring the cheer of happiness to 300 teen soccer enthusiasts from Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio with one of the most exciting soccer training programs created for young aspiring athletes passionate about the sport.
Morgan will join soccer hall of famer Marcelo Balboa, Olympic gold medal winner Shannon MacMillan, and a team of 20 international soccer coaches at the inaugural Coca-Cola Soccer Camp. Held November 16-18 in Houston, the three-day camp will include soccer training, skills demonstrations as well as several workshops and scrimmages in the spirit of friendly competition.
The Coca-Cola Soccer Camp is open to boys and girls 13 to 15 years of age who are legal residents of the state of Texas. Nominations by a friend, teacher or family member are accepted, and teens are encouraged to submit an essay from now until October 4 describing their passion for soccer in order to win the contest. Essays will be judged based on relevance, authenticity, inspirational value, and creativity of their submission and the winners will be announced the week of October 22. The soccer camp activities are free of charge, and winners will receive meals, lodging and uniforms. Transportation for winning teams from San Antonio and Dallas will be provided as well.
